Sriracha Honey-Lime Mini Pigs in a Blanket Recipe

Pigs in a blanket

My husband and I have been happily married for eight years, and part of that happiness is keeping a few simple relationship rules. We don’t let arguments go unresolved before bed, we aim for regular date nights, we say “I love you” every morning, and we support each other’s priorities. One of the more lighthearted rules: the Super Bowl is sacred. He gets the food he wants, I get to watch the commercials, and together we enjoy the ritual of game-day food.

Great food makes any game better—especially when tensions are high and your team is behind. I always serve a vegetable platter and plenty of chips for dipping, but the must-have items are the hearty, crowd-pleasing bites: pizza, burgers, and my husband’s favorite—pigs in a blanket. He likes a little heat, so I make Sriracha Honey Lime pigs in a blanket that balance sweet, spicy, and bright citrus notes.

I shop at ALDI to keep our Super Bowl spread budget-friendly. ALDI carries a wide variety of everyday groceries, seasonal items, and often offers organic dairy and produce at lower prices. I found everything I needed for our party there, including ingredients for the Sriracha Honey Lime pigs in a blanket. If you haven’t shopped ALDI recently, it’s worth checking your local store for weekly specials and seasonal finds.

ALDI also stocks gluten-free options and a variety of snack choices, so hosting guests with dietary preferences is easier. I typically assemble a few appetizer options—some for kids, some with heat—and these pigs in a blanket always disappear first.

Ingredients

For the sriracha honey glaze:

  • 3 tablespoons Countryside Creamery unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Baker’s Corner all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup Berryhill honey
  • Heaping 1/4 cup Fusia Sriracha hot chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Fusia soy sauce
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon Stonemill Essentials red chili pepper flakes (optional)

For the pigs in a blanket:

  • 2 containers (8 oz each) Bake House Creations refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 48 cocktail-size Parkview cocktail sausages

Instructions

For the sriracha honey glaze:

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook until lightly browned, about 1 minute.
  2. Stir in the honey, sriracha, soy sauce, lime juice, and red chili flakes if using. Bring to a gentle boil and simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.

To assemble:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll both cans of crescent roll dough and separate into 16 triangles per can.
  2. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 2 narrower triangles (or 3 if you prefer smaller bites). Toss the cocktail sausages in the sriracha honey glaze until well coated.
  3. Place a coated sausage on the wide end of each dough triangle and roll toward the point. Place each rolled piece point-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake 12–15 minutes, rotating the sheet halfway through, until golden brown. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
